Cisco Service Control Application Reporter User Guide

Introduction

The Cisco Service Control Application Reporter (SCA Reporter) is the Cisco Service Control application tool that allows you to produce reports based on the traffic analysis performed by the Service Control Engine (SCE) platform. The information is sent from the SCE platform and is stored in a database. The SCA Reporter can query and retrieve information from the database and present the results in a comprehensive range of reports, including global monitoring, subscriber monitoring, P2P, and traffic discovery statistics reports.

Cisco Service Control Management Suite Subscriber Manager User Guide

Introduction

This document is a guide to the configuration and management of the Subscriber Manager (SM) application. It contains explanations of relevant concepts and terminology in addition to instructions on how to install, configure, and use the SM.

Note: The guide assumes a basic familiarity with the telecommunications equipment and installation procedures, concepts of the Service Control Management Suite, the Service Control Engine (SCE) 1000, SCE 2000, and SCE 8000 platforms, and their related components.

This Cisco Service Control Management Suite Subscriber Manager User Guide documents the application that processes subscriber records and maintains the subscriber database for use by the SCE platform. It contains instructions for installing the SM and the TimesTen database, editing and installing the configuration file, and managing the system using the Command-Line Utilities (CLU). It also specifies how to configure a Service Control deployment to support subscriber integration in its various forms.

Cisco Service Control Management Suite Collection Manager User Guide

This guide describes the installation and configuration of the Cisco Service Control Management Suite (SCMS) Collection Manager (CM). This preface describes who should read the Cisco Service Control Management Suite Collection Manager User Guide, how it is organized, its document conventions, and how to obtain documentation and technical assistance.

This guide is intended for the networking or computer technician responsible for the onsite installation and configuration of the Cisco Service Control Management Suite (SCMS) Collection Manager (CM). It is also intended for the operator responsible for the daily operations of the CM, allowing the Service Provider operator to make enhancements in a subscriber-oriented environment. This guide assumes a basic familiarity with the concept of the Cisco Service Control solution, the Service Control Engine (SCE) platforms, and related components.

Topology Dynamics in a P2PTV Network

Abstract. In recent years, a number of commercial peer-to-peer TV (P2PTV) applications have been launched. Yet, their mechanisms and characteristics are unknown. In this paper, we study SopCast, a typical proprietary P2PTV system. Treating SopCast as a black box, we perform a set of experiments that are suitable to analyze SopCast in depth. We attempt to disclose the SopCast protocol. The dynamic nature of the SopCast overlay, in terms of node degree, is also addressed in this paper. Our approaches in analyzing the SopCast mechanism and characterizing its topological properties reveal important design insights in SopCast, and may help to better understand similar P2PTV systems.

Introduction

SoftCast User Guide

SopCast is a program that has P2P technology to broadcast different television channels that can be acceded from your PC.

One of the advantages about working with the PeertoPeer philosophy is that while more people are trying to see an emission, the better the downloading speed and the view fluidity will.

When initiating Sopcast we have the possibility of choosing between an anonymous connection and one that uses a user account. We chose the one we preferred (in this case the anonymous one) and click on “Connect”.

Once inside, we will see different tabs from which we can accede, the one that matters to us is the Live Channels.

Here we found a worldwide channel list divided in different categories: entertainment and soap opera channels, news, education, sports, etc.

Software Security Engineering – A Guide for Project Managers

The Goal of Software Security Engineering
Software security engineering is using practices, processes, tools, and techniques that enable you to address security issues in every phase of the software development life cycle (SDLC). Software that is developed with security in mind is typically more resistant to both intentional attack and unintentional failures. One view of secure software is software that is engineered “so that it continues to function correctly under malicious attack” [McGraw 20063] and is able to recognize, resist, tolerate, and recover from events that intentionally threaten its dependability. Broader views that can overlap with software security (for example, software safety, reliability, and fault tolerance) include proper functioning in the face of unintentional failures or accidents and inadvertent misuse and abuse, as well as reducing software defects and weaknesses to the greatest extent possible regardless of their cause.
