Libero IDE Install Instructions

General Information
Libero IDE software is downloadable for free from http://www.actel.com/download/default.aspx or you can order a free DVD from http://www.actel.com/techdocs/litrequest/default.aspx. You must have a license to run Libero IDE and the license type that you obtain determines what devices and features you can use.

Some Libero IDE features are optional during installation. You can minimize the disk space required by only installingtools you use.

  • Libero IDE Platinum (Complete Libero installation, all features and devices)
  • Libero IDE Gold (Limited device support and tools)
  • Libero IDE Stand Alone (Libero IDE without Synplify/Pro AE, ModelSim AE, and WaveFormer Lite)

View the complete descriptions of the above Libero installations at http://www.actel.com/products/software/libero/licensing.aspx.

Libero IDE installation is covered in “Installing Libero IDE Software” on page 27.

Libero IDE License Options
You must have a license installed to run Libero IDE. Several license options are offered. The license defines the available features and FPGA devices, the license expiration date, and maximum version of the software that can be used with the license.

What’s New in Libero IDE v8.6
Probe Insertion
Probe insertion is a post-layout process that enables an IGLOO, ProASIC3 or Fusion FPGA designer to insert probes into the design and bring signals out to package pins on the device in order to evaluate and debug the design. During testing of a programmed device, a situation might occur where the device logic is not behaving as expected. Probe insertion enables designers to select internal nets anywhere in the design, connect signals to unused pins, and then run incremental layout.

Net(s) selection and probe assignments are made by using the Generate Probed Design feature available from the Designer Tools menu. If all package pins are already assigned, you can temporarily disconnect a used pin, and connect the probed signal to that pin. The re-routed design can then be programmed into the FPGA, where an external logic analyzer or oscilloscope can be used to view the activity of the probed signal.

Libero IDE Quick Start Guide for Software v8.4

Introduction
The Libero IDE Quick Start Guide for Software v8.4 contains information for using the Libero® Integrated Design Environment (IDE) software to create designs for, and program, Actel devices.

This manual includes information about the Libero IDE software, which allows you to generate and/or import a netlist generated from a third-party CAE tool, perform pre-synthesis simulation, synthesize your design, place-and-route the design, run physical synthesis, perform static timing analysis, extract timing information, estimate power consumption, and generate a programming file to program an Actel FPGA.

This manual also refers to other Actel documents that contain additional information, including CAE software interface guides and simulation guides with specific information about using CAE tools with the Libero IDE.

A Brief Guide to WordPress

Introduction
WordPress offers two ways of creating content and it’s important to understand the difference between them:

  • Posts – these are the day to day (or at least fairly frequent) additions to the website. They are displayed on the website with the most recent at the top, and the rest in reverse chronological order. Posts are the things that most people go to the site for as they are constantly being added to. Posts are probably what you’ll create mostly.
  • Pages – these are separate from the main page and contain the more static type of information, such as reference pages, general information, etc. They are accessible through links in the header and/or sidebar.

Wordpress Quick Guide

Welcome
Welcome to your new website. It can function as a Website as a Blog or as both. It is just important that you distinguish between POSTS and PAGES later in this document. Both are in fact “website pages” but function slightly differently when it comes to categorization.

Remember your Wordpress “blog” is a WEBSITE…..

Introduction
This is a quick introduction tutorial to using your wordpress blog site. It is actually very easy to use and manage and all you have to do is play around with it a bit. Do not worry, you will not break it!
